Thirsty for that Desmond sound? Morgan has a Dry Martini for you!

After several months of modifications and trial and error, he assisted the Morgan Mouthpiece Company in creating what has now become one of our top selling mouthpieces; the Dry Martini alto. He originally designed it in the 18 chamber, which was the most popular of the Gregory chambers and what Paul Desmond played most of his career. He crafted it in facings of 4 (063), 5 (070) and 6(075). Desmond played on and 18-4 so Erik used the original MC Gregory facing to make that model. The 5 and 6 facings are additions created by Morgan.
We have had great reviews on this mouthpiece since its inception. One of our biggest champions and spokesmen for the Dry Martini has been Jorre Reyndors from Sharp Eleven Music from Belgium. His YouTube channel features several clips and in-depth reviews of the mouthpiece. Here's one of our favorites:
For years, we had calls to our shop asking for a Paul Desmond sounding mouthpiece and while we had similar models, we just didn't have one that even comes close to what we have created with the Dry martini. We don't want to brag but we feel confident that we have the best mouthpiece on the market now to recreate the smooth, sultry, traditional sound of Paul Desmond. You be the judge.

Thank you for commenting! Our GM Baritone mouthpiece is constructed from the actual MC Gregory molds. We have a blog in our list explaining how we acquired those molds and used them to make a terrific mouthpiece. No plans yet for a tenor mouthpiece. The closest model we have to getting that west coast jazz sound is the EG ’Cool" mouthpiece.
I don’t typically click promoted posts in Facebook, but this time did because I’m such a fan of Paul Desmond’s sound. This was a really nice post, very informative and educational. Unfortunately, I’m not personally an alto player (mainly as I don’t have one), but I will share with my family and friends who may be interested. I wonder if tenor and bari variations are planned?
