The Morgan Jazz Mouthpieces are handcrafted the “Vintage” way.  Ralph Morgan started the company with the purpose of bringing back the lost art and science of truly handcrafted mouthpieces.  Our materials, tools, and process of making mouthpieces are identical to the manufacturers of the 1940s and 1950s.  We start with our 100% pure rubber formula, we mold and cure our mouthpieces to our exact specifications.  No machines are used in the cutting and shaping of our mouthpieces.  We cut our facings and shape the chambers and baffles all by hand.  Our craftsmen are among the most experienced in the world with 80+ years' experience among the three of them.

These are excellent mouthpieces with great variety to match various play styles. I had trouble getting in touch with anyone with questions during the trial, but other than that the process was very smooth.

I expected this one to be overly bright for my taste, but was surprised to find it retained more depth than I expected. It had my tone leaning more towards Charlie Parker or John Coltrane, and the clean sound made fast runs sound very crisp. Similar to tge Indiana, though, I found it abit more resistant than I’d like.

This is my second Morgan mouthpiece. Great fidelity and intonation throughout the horn. Great jazz mouthpiece.

I could not believe the response I got as soon as I started playing. So easy to be expressive. I bought a Morgan for my alto a few years ago and love it. But this Jazz Tenor New York Model is going to bring the best out of me. Thanks!!

The Jazz Tenor NY is a joy to play. The sound is easily shaped and colored, as well as versatile for all genres. A wonderful fat tone with a moldable edge that I love. And, it is crazy responsive. It speaks like no other piece that I’ve played. So much so, that my hands are more relaxed than they ever have been. I can get the aggression through the horn with much less effort.

I am a mouthpiece junkie and this has easily become my favorite tenor mouthpiece, easily edging out my Guardala Traditional, Brecker I, and Studio which are very expressive, but lack the depth of the Morgan.

As far as I am concerned, this mouthpiece is worth much more than what I paid for it, judging by the cost of other mouthpieces that don’t hold a candle to the Morgan’s. Do yourself a favor and try these mouthpieces. It will be worth your time and money!

After getting great results with my ML chamber alto mouthpiece, I decided to give an ML chamber tenor mouthpiece a try. A dedicated Otto Link player on tenor for many years, I have previously tried Morgan L chamber mouthpieces, typically in smaller and larger facings than my Link, and never found a combination of reed and mouthpiece to give me the sound I was after. Ironically, this has changed with the ML chamber tenor mouthpiece, paired with a medium strength reed, the 7 I recently acquired is warmer and fuller than any of my L chamber Morgan mouthpieces, and gives me a warm full sound comparable to my favorite Links, while providing a bit more punch, focus and projection. While the ML is advertised as Meyer like in internal geometry, I’ve never played a Meyer on tenor that responds and projects with the warmth and focus that the ML does. If you’ve been searching for that special vintage Link that projects and is reed friendly, try a Morgan ML, you may be surprised at the results, as I was!
