The Morgan Runyon Custom Soprano Saxophone Mouthpiece brings back a classic Runyon design using original, new-old-stock Runyon mouthpiece blanks. After the Runyon Company ceased production, Morgan Mouthpiece Company acquired a large quantity of these unused soprano blanks and now individually hand-finishes and faces each mouthpiece.

Runyon used this design for its well-known Custom and Couf soprano saxophone mouthpieces, models associated with players including Grover Washington Jr. and Dave Koz. Unlike the original production mouthpieces, which were machine-finished, the Morgan Runyon Custom receives a precision hand-finished facing from Morgan's experienced mouthpiece craftsmen.

The result combines an authentic vintage Runyon blank with Morgan's hand-finishing and facing work—a limited opportunity for soprano players to purchase this classic design in unused condition.

About These Original Runyon Blanks

These are genuine unused Runyon blanks that were manufactured years ago and remained in storage after Runyon ceased production. Because this is a finite supply that cannot be replaced, we do not reject otherwise excellent blanks solely for minor cosmetic imperfections. Your mouthpiece may show a small scratch, scuff, molding mark or other superficial blemish from manufacturing or long-term storage. These cosmetic variations do not affect the facing, performance or playability of the mouthpiece.

Shipping & Returns

Morgan mouthpiece products are not available in retail stores. Because we deal directly with you, we can afford to keep our prices lower and customer service high.  No one knows and understands our mouthpieces like we do.

We offer a 10-day trial that starts the day you receive your shipment. So, you can play the mouthpieces without distraction in your preferred setting.

Purchase up to 3 mouthpieces in different models or sizes for side-by-side trial.  Keep what you love and if you are not satisfied, return for a refund the mouthpiece(s) in the original packaging in new clean unmarked condition.

  • We ship free in the USA on orders over $200!  International orders ship Fedex Economy for $45.
  • Use a tooth patch on each mouthpiece to prevent bite marks/scratches.  Kindly remove tooth patches prior to returning mouthpieces.
  • For returns, use a ship service of your choice such as US Postal Service or UPS. (We do not provide return shipping labels)

Restock Fees 

  • If you purchase 1 mouthpiece and return it, there is a $20 restock fee if the item is valued under $499.00.  Purchases valued over $500.00 are subject to a restock fee of $25.
  • If you purchase up to 3 mouthpieces, keep at least 1 and return the others, there is a flat $25 restock fee for USA customers.
  • If you purchase multiple and return all for refund, a restock fee of $20 may apply to each mouthpiece, depending on condition upon return. This applies to both USA and International orders. Kindly remove tooth patches prior to returning the

Exchanges

  • If you purchase a mouthpiece but need to exchange it for a different model or size, please contact us by email with your order info to discuss options. There is an $8.00 charge to cover the return shipping cost on exchanges.

Care Instructions

Clean with 3:1 water/vinegar ratio and buff with soft cloth. Do not immerse mouthpieces containing cork. Use spray bottle with solution, avoiding cork area and dry and buff with soft cotton cloth.

    We know if can be difficult getting the right mouthpiece on the first try. We're happy to exchange models/sizes to suit your needs. For USA customers, an $8.00 return shipping charge applies when we exchange to a new item. For International customers, the return shipping charge for an exchange is $45.00.
